In recognition of International Cochlear Implant Day, we're launching a series that highlights the importance of connections in all that we do.
At The Hearing House, we’re honored to be part of the cochlear implant journey, offering a supportive community and expert care to our incredible clients.
As our founder, the late Sir Pat Moore, said: “It was a sobering thought that our work had the power to improve people’s lives by facilitating promotion at work, by restoring companionship in marriage and simply by making people happier.”

An excellent example of this is our 11-year-old client Henry Optican who gave an inspirational speech at the Power of Speech event in Canberra last year.
“These life-changing pieces of tech have helped so many people around the world lead good and noisy lives,” he said. “If I had been born 100 years ago, I wouldn’t be able to hear anything.”
Henry's story encapsulates the profound impact that cochlear implants can have in enabling people with hearing differences to live full and connected lives, supported by a programme of support, care, research and partnerships.

Stay tuned as we share more inspirational stories from our kiritaki/clients and our dedicated team, as we celebrate the powerful connections cochlear implants create for individuals and their communities.
